Digital Ordo Mirror (that just sounds cool!)
Sorry that Fr. Simon’s site went down. It should be back up but if you need it get it here! We have posted it on our site if it goes down again. Enjoy!

UPDATE: In case their page goes offline due to heavy traffic, I’ve posted a copy of EWTN’s schedule of coverage for this event.
One can only speculate that the result of media hype (and perhaps genuine curiosity!) has caused the EWTN website to be unavailable for most of the day; this is yet again a vote for the importance of viable, appropriate, and available coverage of the Catholic Church reaching out into the world via media, both conventional and new.
Let us remember to pray not only for the safety and fruitfulness of the Pope, but also for successful, meaningful, and Spirit-led coverage, as well as safety for all those involved with the telecommunications operation covering Byzantium. (never thought I’d use Byzantium in a sentence in quite that way!)
Of course, we’ll have full coverage for you this weekend!

On this episode, we engage in some light geek speak. Don’t let that scare you off; we’ve got preparatory software for Advent, an emo bumper, and we discuss the use of various new media devices in the context of worship. We also tackle some backChat as we begin the Advent Season.

Blessing of Centers of Social Communication
Here is the blessing from the Book of Blessings for you to give to your pastor when you set up your podcasting studio! The words of the prayer are certainly appropriate for all those who work in the field of media — very profound indeed!

Dear Listerners,
We need your prayers. We have been encountering some inexplicable technical difficulties. It has been amazing that these errors have been fixed when prayer is involved, no other explanation is needed or requested. Please send us your prayers!
God Bless,
CU Crew

This episode, Fr. Ryan is out of the studio and Sean Harrison drops by to weigh in; we consecrate the parish’s copy room a Center for Social Communication to ward off the attacks of the Enemy, we speak about new liturgical guidelines, liturgical language and its importance, we answer some backChat and generally enjoy each other’s company! It occurs to us that we actually cut a block out leaving us with only ONE topic of discussion more or less. We promise not to do that again (until the next time!)

while you were sleeping (if you’re in Oceania) cyberCatholics.com moved to its own dedicated server. We host with ‘em, and so as you browse our humble blog, this means that there might be a little spring in your browser’s step. Now’s the chance to move over to Josh for blog hosting. His rates? Trés Reasonable! Thanks Josh!

We chat about some celebrities in the news, a feisty Dominican and the smack down on the so-called vocations “crisis”, music to discern by, evangelization a/v style, and we read some backChat.
Enjoy!
