cu special 4: live! did you say…

Our first live show….delayed much longer than it should have been, wrought with low quality audio, but darn fun! Thanks to those who chimed in. We look for another opportunity to have a live show!

    Great Show.

First comment is a quote for the person who is suing the GPS makers. “Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.”

Second, I worry about connecting to an open wireless access points because they either could be a hackers honey pot or Like Josh has stated if left with default password could have been compromised and now be performing a man in the middle attack wich will capture all unencrypted traffic.

Finally is that although there are nominally 11 channels these channels overlap in the frequncy they use. channel one’s nominal frequency is at 2412 MHz and each channel number corrisponds to and increase of 5 MHz in frequency but each channel uses a spread of 24 Mhz so If you use channel 1 the next channel that will not interfere is channel 6 and then channel 11. This really means there are only 3 chanels not 11.

GPS – God gave obvious limits on our intelligence, but no limits on our stupidity.

I am a math guy, not a computer guy, but I do build pcs and networks for friends. I have resorted to buying all Buffalo products. They have the AOSS – AirStation One-Touch Secure System. You plug in the wireless card and plug in the wireless router. Press the AOSS buttons on both devices, they will communicate with each other and establish a secured link between themselves. I tell my friends to buy their router, wireless cards and a usb wireless device for friends that show up. This GREATLY reduces the network tech support that they expect from me.
