JOE CATHOLIC (KATHOLIKOS)

Joe is the center of the story (as the comic title suggests!) As a doctoral student and assistant in the University of St. Thomas the Apostle’s Historical-Ecclesiastical Studies department, Joe often gets called upon to investigate strange happenings and often encounter Church history first-hand.  With his clever intuitive skills, and ability to piece together the Church’s tradition and historical data, whatever’s gone awry usually gets sorted out.

GIOVANNI DeLUCE

Joe’s trusty sidekick and all-around man-of-the-world. “Gio” is a doctoral student in anthropology studying abroad in Rome, but that doesn’t stop him from flying in to join in the adventure. While he prefers to spend his time in the café blending into the Italian cityscape, his skills for interpreting culture make him an indispensable addition to the team!

ELISE DUPRÉE

Elise is a research assistant at the Turkish National Archives in Istanbul. She is of French origin and has a degree in Archeology and Library Sciences. She got involved with Joe and Giovanni on their very first caper and remains an important contact, even when she can’t physically hop the globe with the guys.

CONRAD STUART

Conrad is the Chair of Cultural Patrimony and Anthropology at the University of St. Thomas the Apostle. He’s often contacted by Vatican officials as well as others concerned with the preservation of the Catholic Faith. Since Joe is a doctoral student under his apprenticeship, Conrad often sends him out on missions to discover the Truth and recover it when it has been “misplaced.”
